Come on guys, I need some honest opinions with real experience. I’m looking to buy either a MG Tour Pro or Ultrex. Based on everything I’ve read online it just seems the luck of the draw as with anything else in hopes you don’t get a lemon. This is a big purchase for me and I’m just looking for user experience with either.

I just bought an Ultrex to replace my Ulterra that crapped out. When I bought this boat, it had an Ultrex on it, but the shaft was too short. I liked the one that was on it, but couldn't stand listening to it gulp air, when the water was choppy. I honestly don't know anyone who has bought a new Motor Guide TM in a long, long time. There has to be a good reason for that. The Ultrex is nice, I have no complaints with the new one, with the longer shaft.

With MK releasing their new Quest recently, I'd imagine that you could buy a nice used Ultrex soon.

Plenty of ultrex available used on BBC that can likely be bought at 50% cost of new. I was just looking today actually. There was a MG also.

The used boat I bought in March had a trolling motor but I upgraded to the ultrex. Manily for the spot loc feature. The only things that I had problems with is with the half moon pedal( power) sticking but that was an easy fix. Now the blue power light just comes on sometimes and I just wiggle the switch. I haven’t used the remote yet.

I was thinking the same thing.

I’m ordering the Ultrex. I found a few places that have really good pricing right now. Thanks for the advice!

I have a 36v MG Tour Pro and love it. Fast, quiet, rock solid, and you can still use it should the steer assist go out. Sent you a PM.

Ford / Chevy, about the same thing... I'm an Ultrex guy myself but do not have experience with the MG Tour Pro but I'm sure it's a good trolling motor.
