Used to drive through there all the time for work. Pile of deer and turkey in the area. There has been some clear cutting over the last few years nearby and on some of the state land it looks like.
The west side of the property is near some other hunting club lands. Long Hollow and a dog Hunting club called Community Hunting club. I hunted Long Hollow Hunting Club (about 30 years ago) with my Dad. It would be nice if they opened up some of the land for hunting on the east side of Highway 21 to the lake. A good bit of timber on that side. The west side is also bordered by hunting club land. Blue Springs Hunting Club I believe.
The State Park was opened for a while and then closed. Not sure who manages it now near the recreational area. This is right there at Huxford, Alabama.
