Yeah there was a heck of a deal on one in the classifieds. I’m glad someone had already bought it before I saw it Whew. Me too. I'm still in the educating myself stage so not quite ready to purchase, but if the right deal were to show up it may help me make up my mind. I'm kinda hoping that deal doesn't show until I know for sure what I want to get.

Contender will be accurate plus easy to change calibers. I had a super14 stainless contender with a 35 remington barrel. 100 yd shots were easy
Two roads diverged in the woods and I took the one with deep ruts, hills and mud.It may be bumpy but WHAT A RIDE!

I hunt with a 7x30 Waters and a 44 Magnum and no doubt they both will kill a deer or a hog. But, and this is a big but, I haven't shot anything with either yet. I have been laying with the 7x30 the last couple of weeks, but nothing I want to shoot has given me a shot. The 7x30 I will try to about a 100 yards, the 44 Mag about 50. Both are scoped. A 7x30 won't break a sweat at 100 yards. I killed several in the 150 to 175 range with mine; just need a good rest and a lot of practice. A good quality 120 grain bullet at 2400 mv oughta still be a killer out around 300 yards, but the trick is making a good shot at that range.
All the labor of man is for his mouth, and yet the appetite is not filled.

Not a big Rossi fan, but they make a 410/45LC called the Brawler. 9” barrel, break action, integrated picatinny rail, rubber grips, $250 range. Not my first choice of calibers, but sufficient for a sub -100yd gun. Gonna try one if I can find one in stock somewhere.

Yeah, it should be good a lot further.
