Hi everyone. I and my team at Auburn are collaborating with researchers in the AU Vet School, and are in the process of conducting some disease surveillance on wild pigs in Alabama. We are trying to get tissue samples from wild pigs throughout the state, and we are hoping to get pig hunters and trappers (those regularly trapping wild pigs would probably be best) to collect some samples for us. Simply put, we would need an approximately 2-inch X 2-inch chunk of lung placed in a tube that we would send to you. We will send you tubes pre-prepared for the samples, and once you've collected 5 or 10 samples, you could ship us the samples using Auburn's Fed Ex number. If you have questions or you would possibly be interested in helping us with this research, please let me know. I would be happy to answer any questions you might have. It might be best if you could email me directly (ditchss@auburn.edu) as I am not on here all the time. However, I will try and monitor this for the next week or two so that I can answer general questions. Thanks.
Steve

Thank you. I check in occasionally to see what is going on, but I learned a decade ago to minimize my posts. There are too many people that become extremely brave sitting in front of a keyboard.

Also, I hope my previous post didn't come off the wrong way. I am more than happy to address on here any questions people may have, but I will probably reply quicker if contacted directly by email.
