Sold out. Went on sale January 9th and sold out January 25th. Last year, they had tags right up to opening day. Nebraska was my backup plan if I don't get drawn in Kansas. Not so much now.

I picked a good time to get too old for out of state turkey hunting. I wish that all of you younger guys could have the same quality of experiences that I had, but I don't think you will. The days of heading to the Midwest for a week of hunting and bringing home 5 gobblers appear to be over.

PCP, unfortunately I think you are right. When If first went to Nebraska, you could buy three NR tags over the counter. Took my son twice and his FIL once and we all tagged out in the first couple of days. One year we tagged out in Nebraska and then drove down to Kansas, bought two NR tags over the counter and tagged out there before heading home.

Now, Nebraska is sold out, Kansas, you are allowed one tag and have to be drawn via lottery for that. My first thought was all these You Tube guys who pack up their trucks and just head West may have a difficult time getting tags unless they bought them all well in advance.

Thankfully cause they are the reason we are in this mess. Screwed tons of turkey hunters out of the opportunities they once had for the sake of a few bucks and clout.

Being told by a reliable source that KS will be a near 100% draw for NR turkeys.

Kinda like MS was the 1st year; % drawn dropped dramatically the second year.

Zero chance I would travel all the way to Nebraska or Kansas even with only 1 tag

I was told by a reliable source that the northeast zone had more applications than the quota nearly a week ago. So that is one zone that won't be a given.

Semo, get 2 in Mo.then one in the other two states and that would be a Awesome trip and all those free Mo. mushrooms.

Ive been hunting MO and IL and wanting to get back to Alabama. But until they get Alabama's season earlier or my kids get too old for youth season I guess I'll keep focusing on the fungi.
