And I was just told by a friend that his brother has killed 24 this season and not game checked one of them. Makes you wonder how bad the numbers are off.

There’s a few counties and trends I’m curious about……Some of the counties in the southeast corner really saw some big jumps in doe harvest…..Bullock Co 34% over……Reckon that’s gonna make the hunting better??

We killed more deer this season because we saw way more deer then last season. We had way better hunting weather this season then last also. The biggest factor was we had good plots and lots of food in the woods which kept the deer on our place. This was the first season in a long time that every member killed a deer. Some killed multiple. Just an all around great season and can’t wait till next year to start it all over again.

I can also tell that the numbers for Monroe co. didn’t come from the southern part. Some trips we would only just a couple shots within hearing distance in a week.

How many folks kill deer in February because the season is winding down? You know, 1 more doe for the freezer or fill that last buck tag while you can. Ending the season on January 31st doesn't necessarily mean all the deer that are killed in February wouldn't get killed. Less days to hunt means some wouldn't, but I don't think the #s would change as much as your maps are showing.

There’s probably some truth to that with does but I think most folks shoot bucks whenever the opportunity presents itself. If they could have shot those Feb bucks earlier in the season most would have……

I would personally never hunt when deer were shedding - all motivation gone
Ours are rutting. Hunting a shedding deer is stupid
Hunt the wind - leave it better than you found it - love your neighbor as you love your self We need prayer for our country now more than ever

I passed a bunch of bucks earlier in the season because I had plenty of time left in the season and I figured that I might get a chance at them later on. I'd hate to kill my 3 buck limit and still have a month or 2 of season left. Sometimes that works out, somtimes it doesn't. But at least I get to spend more time in the woods.

Jackson county was way down . We did have the real bad week in January when no one but crazy die hard hunters were in the woods . But that shouldn’t account for that big of a difference. The drought totally kept me from having my food plots and probably affected deer movement to the corn feeders . I did notice numbers on the management areas was up , especially bucks . That's right , the deep freeze hit right a prime rut time for most of the county.
