I saw a recent post about someone looking for work and thought this would be a cool thread. I realized none of us have any idea what most of us do occupational-wise. Good group of folks here. There might be opportunities for some trade or otherwise. I understand if any double oot spies abstain, feel free to tell us what you do or did do if you are retired. I'll start with myself.

20 years in commercial debt recovery, (B2B) stuff. I deal with mostly small to medium-sized business owners who need to collect money from another business that isn't paying up. I've collected money on just about everything you can imagine, but I focus mostly on construction debt and tradesmen/suppliers that may or may not have a good lien filed. I take a shot at it, before my clients have to hire a lawyer and sue or walk away.

I also have worked as a private investigator and process server (very closely aligned fields to B2B debt collection), but I hung that hat up a couple of years ago.

Structural Engineer licensed in most of the 50 states. 4 offices with about 50 employees depending on the day of the week. Have designed all types of structures from locally to all over the planet pretty much. Also, do some forensics structural engineering as well. I really enjoy the forensic engineering.

I do steel fabrication drawings for pre engineered steel building companies, I've done work for most of them through the years. Also provide engineering to some of the smaller local fabricators. I'm like blade, I have buildings all over the place that I've done, I also do some house plans from time to time. OH, I drive a school bus too.

I quit working for "the man" two Januarys ago and went FT with my lawncare business. Home everyday by around 5. Weekends off. Off all Winter to hunt and enjoy family. I get to work outside. I ENJOY WHAT I DO and actually feel like I'm helping people. I make in a 5-month stretch what I would have for an entire year at my last job.

I'm a Civil Design Project Manager for a large power company.

At least for the next 7 weeks...

After that I will be a financially independent person doing what I want to do.
