Took my son Bream fishing this afternoon. he is 5 so it was one of those really quite afternoons with no questions asked what so ever  . One of the last that we caught was about the size of my hand. We had caught it on a keystone minnow. I decided to take the minnow off and hook the bream through the mouth with the jig and let him swim around a tree top off the end of the pier. My son was holding the rod playing with the fish in the water, when all of a sudden I see the cork SHOOT under. I knew what had happend and luckly grabbed him and the ultralite rod. IT WAS ON!! I held onto him and he pulled with all his might and reeled as hard as he could. after about 2-3 minutes of lookinng like Jimmy Houston doing the round the boat walk with the rod tip in the water He/I pulled about a 4lb bass out of the pond. He was glowing!. he said "Daddy, I'm so happy I don't even know what day it is! LOL, like he would know anyway  . I can promise you he wasn't as happy as his daddy was, seeing the look on his face when i put that fish in his face for him. if someone can post the pic, send me a pm and I'll send it to you. I've got a buddy going with he and I tomorrow. he will be the net man, another of his favorite things to do

Dixie, I think you are right. I didn't have any scales with me. the fisher in me says 6lb but reality says about 5. I gave a quick conservative guess of 4. According to him, it started at 4 that afternoon, but as of talking with him about it again this afternoon, he is saying around 8  . the way it's growing by the day I think he is going to make a fine fisherman one day
