Sometimes things just line up... I took my son (first born of my 7yr old triplets) for his first turkey hunt. I wasn't expecting much seeing as I'm not very good at it. I just wanted him to get to experience being out there, us calling some and maybe hear one gobble if we were lucky. But sometimes things don't go as you expect We got set up in the blind a little before 2:30pm. I hit the box call and started kinda trying to let him know what to expect. After a few minutes I hit the call again and low & behold I hear a gobble! We look out and there he's standing with a buddy about 100 yards away. I ask my son if he can see him, and it took him a minute or two to spot him, but he finally does. I tell him to go ahead and find him in the scope and put the red dot on him. I hit call again and he hammers at us. They start easing our way kind of feeding as they go. I do a little scratching to help them along and after about 15 minutes they make their way to about 25 steps... I ask if he's got the dot on him and he says he does, so I whispered "Shoot him!" and he rolled him up with the .410! Bird didn't even flop! I've thought about this day a lot over the past few years and nothing I imagined even comes close to what the experience was like. It really couldn't have gone more perfectly. It was one of the top days of my life... I'm talking getting married, the kids being born and THIS I can't wait to get the other two kids on their first birds... and to share the woods with them for many years to come. ![[Linked Image]](https://ironcitydigital.com/images/liam1.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://ironcitydigital.com/images/liam2.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://ironcitydigital.com/images/liam&dad.jpg)
