Landed these beasts in the surf last week vacationing in NC... When you pull one of these up on the beach, swimmers begin to give you plenty of room to fish! Thought I'd share... 50+ pound Nurse Shark 30ish pound Lemon Shark

What did you catch em on? Just what ever else was in the surf... I used live and cut blue fish, whiting, croaker, and pin fish for bait... Live blue fish were most effective... they seemed to handle the hook and keep their vigor the best.

Catching bait with a cast net I presume?

Catching bait with a cast net I presume? Nope... my youngins wanted to fish a good bit. I rigged up some rods for them with shrimp, and whatever they were catching is what I used for bait. We did catch some mullet in the sound with a throw-net, but didn't have much success using them for bait.
