That 4.7L V8 was a beast. Thatâs gotta easily be top 5 for âBest engine ever made.â People routinely get 300k+ out of them with only routine maintenance and 500k with good maintenance isnât uncommon

There was something goofy about them I think.

Engine is bullet proof . I've never been a fan of full time 4WD though. I've owned a 1994 2nd generation and a 2003 V8 4th generation, each for about 9 years. I'd love to have the 2nd gen back, but I wasn't sold on the 4th generation--the brake system was anything but bulletproof, and when it started having problems, it was an expensive fix.
