Another beautiful morning for sure. Someone should hear them somewhere. Kind of like tournament bass fishing. They are biting somewhere and someone is catching them. They are gobbling somewhere today and burning it up I'm sure.

Hope none of them railroad workers mess with your birds RollerDave. Over the years have heard of loggers who would do that.

This sunrise was a beautiful testament to the glory of God! First listening spot=nothing. Got a bird to gobble to a hoot at second spot. Set up as close as was possible and clucked. 5 minutes later let out a faint 3 note yelp and then a louder 5 note yelp. Waited an hour because it was a good setup and a gobbler was close. Eventually backed out to head to work.

Have his address now. Maybe he will be hot on a morning I can hunt him. Wish I could get back around 10:00.

Worst hunting day Ive ever had. My ammo stash is far away and for whatever reason all the shot is falling out of the magnum blends I brought for my gun. So, grabbed my sons 20 and some TSS I bought. Well, I guess it shoots off or I just cant hold it right. Missed 3 shots this morning. One at 25, one at 12, and one at 18. I was really careful on the last 2 and still wiffed. I'm so mad I think I'll hang it up for the year.

Been there and done the miss. An absolutely gut wrenching experience. On a positive note, those birds are still there.

Congratulations, welcome to the club. Yes, just as stated, if you are ate up with it like a lot of us, it's 24-7 365. Folks who haven't experienced it just don't understand. I am thankful I lived another spring to enjoy it again.

Shot mag blends for years and had the same problem. I finally took a small candle and melted some wax on the end of the shell to seal it up.

I missed 5 turkeys one year with a 12 ga to find out the pattern hit a full foot or more left of the bead at 25 yards.

Semo that’s a terrible day. I’d have behaved like a little untrained child.

Yeah, it really has me questioning everything. After the first miss I almost went home. I didnt miss 3 birds in my 1st 20 years of hunting. To miss 3 times in a day just doesnt seem real.

The real answer is dont be a dumba** and take out a gun and shell combo that you've never patterned. Seemed like the old school fixed chokes and lead#4s were interchangeable. These new chokes and shells throws all that consistency out the window.

Honestly I think it's pretty impressive you got 3 birds in front of you in the same day. I know that doesn't ease the sting, but damn.
