Get referrals to MD Anderson or Mayo. My stepfather went through this, they are the absolute best. Get there ASAP.

Prayers up for y’all. Dad had cancer there. Like Jot said, it should be a four letter word. Dad’s was too far along to have the Whipple. What I remember being the deal with the surgery is that usually a growth there doesn’t take much to become tangled up with major nerves that also run through that area. That is the big risk with the procedure- damage to those important nerves. CCI in Huntsville had good people taking care of Dad but that was over 10yrs ago so I don’t have any recent info on them for you. Back then they worked somehow with MD Anderson on a treatment plan for him so we didn’t have to fly out there. For him, there just weren’t many options.

Prayers sent. Ive had 3 aunts and uncles that got pancreatic cancer. In the 1980s there wasnt much for treatment. My godparent/dads best friend was diagnosed with it more recently and he went to someone in indianapolis and they performed a shaving type of surgery. I'd never heard about anybody ever going to Indianapolis for cancer treatment, so that stuck out. Most folks go to MD Anderson in Dallas or Barnes Jewish in St. Louis. So, it may be worth some research to check out who is in Indy and what they do.

BTW he was cancer free after his treatment/surgery.

Prayers for finding the correct team and treatment plan and successful cancer free recovery.

Sounds like they may have caught this very early which is not common because the pancreas is deep within the body and tumors can grow larger before symptoms start to show.

Good information here. If they can do the Whipple, that's the best option.
