The country as a whole has contracted the disease of sorriness. Not all but most. The mindset now is just do exactly what you need to get by but absolutely nothing over and above. The last couple of generations has become a bunch of lazy crybabies. Its a damn epidemic. The only good thing about it is if you are one of the few that do what you say and do excellent work then the sky is the limit for you.

You are correct but also keep in mind that the government and a lot of corporations do not encourage high performance and do not reward over achievement, much less any kind of achievement. If a Teslas janitor comes up with a way to save Tesla money or speed things along because he figured a way to clean the floors faster, that janitor will get a bonus and a raise.
If an Amazon super computer engineer comes up with something better, they will get a bonus or reward.
If a government worker comes up with something better...well it has to go through a committee first....and that guy will never get any kind of reward.

Sorry is just one component of this epidemic.

90% of my clients can't or won't read. Usually won't. It's mind boggling they don't listen either. I had a client show up to an inspection. 100+ year old home. Staircase to the basement is held together with a single bolt on one side. Things coming down and soon. I told him and the realtor don't come down the stair or go on the balcony on back of the home. Not 5 minutes later he marches down the stairs. I see them tilting as he comes down. Sir, do NOT use those stairs. They are unsafe. 3 minutes later he walks back through and starts to go up, I cleared my throat to get his attention. He asks me if he can go back up the stairs. W.T.F? Hell no, go around the home and up the sidewalk. Stay off these stairs.

That is absolutely quickly becoming my common client. They do not read. They do not take instructions. They do not understand what they read, when they make the effort to read it. Makes my brain cramp.

For the most part, I don't have those issues with my foreign clients.

I instilled in both my children that at the end of the day all you have is your word. If you tell someone you are going to do something, do it. Even at the expense of something else. If you do this, it’s amazing at the opportunities that follow for someone that is trustworthy and does what they say they will do.

Just listened to a podcast with Dale Jr. He interviewed Marlin Yoder. Kid left the Amish community at 17 years old with $4. Worked hard and took some chances. Ended up working for Hendricks Motorsports and won a championship as a mechanic on the #5 team. Great story, but the kid had an incredible work ethic and that has taken him far in life.

Very good sumation. Americans have become dumb, fat and lazy. See it every day. Very few have a good work ethic anymore. If you have one you will do well because there's not a lot of competition. Another thing I am seeing is a lack of attention to detail and sloppiness. Of course the leader of our country ain't setting much of an example.

Its not just young people. its a rare quality now to have an employee of any age who can do a job and actually work thru a problem on their own.

I mean crap, there is google, there is YouTube. You can about figure out anything between the two. At least look there before you come running into my office so I can do your job for you....🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

All part of the plan to create a very co-dependent society. It is much easier to control those who will not think or do for themselves.

What We see now in present is result of product of the success of the past. The USA was on top of the World and had nothing more to prove after the great success of Winning World War 2. It has been slowly declining in the USA since then and has sped up since the election of Obama. All great civilizations of the past have went through it. No one civilization stays on top forever. Just the way it is. Keep faith in the Bible and My Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It is the only true Hope any one of Us has.
