When you find a way around the clear teachings of the Bible, you can pretty much justify anything you want. Stoned any prostitutes lately? Many people adhere to the Bible in different ways. That being said I don’t want a gay pastor nor do I support same sex marriage The sin of Homosexuality is one of the clearest teachings in the bible with even a minor reading. It doesn't matter what we think. It matters what the Bible says. With that said, there are three kinds of Old Testament law: civil, moral and ceremonial. Jesus's penal substitutionary atonement replaced and fulfilled those laws. Homosexuality is also spoken of in the New Testament. Sin is sin. I get what you’re saying and I certainly don’t want a gay pastor, but there are no small sins. JM, there is a difference in committing a single act of sin and then asking the Lord for forgiveness. That's a sign of being a true Believer. Before I was saved, I had a filthy mouth. Now, I very rarely use profanity, but when I do, I can't let 10 seconds pass by without asking the Lord for forgiveness. The sin I used to commit flagrantly, now repulses me. The other side of that is living a continuous, unrepentant lifestyle of sin. That's what a homosexual lifestyle is.
"The true soldier fights not because he hates what is in front of him, but because he loves what is behind him." -G. K. Chesterton

I do believe theres a difference in "sins". The bible certainly criticizes some sins more than others. Some are called more serious words, such as an abomination. It says God hates a liar. Bearing false witness, aka lying is one of the ten commandments. But that one has become pretty common and looked over. Every human sins, probably every day, even with us doing our best not to. But to wake up every day and commit the same sin every day, thats kinda like saying "i know what you want me to do Lord, but i dont care, im doing what i want to do". Several sins fall into that category. I would bet any amount of money that I commit the same sins daily. I understand what you’re saying, but even when we judge the obviously immoral man we sin.

This is the very reason why so many Methodist churches have left the United Methodist Church. The UMC decided to abandon the word of the Bible. Our little country church did it and so did a whole lot if others Yes, I play the piano at an Independent Methodist Church. They left the old Methodist because of that crap. We have a dynamic pastor that preaches/teaches the Word of God as it should be.

The lgblt’s need to be in church as well as every sinner(everyone) but for the life of me I can’t understand them promoting that lifestyle. Right is wrong & wrong is right….We really are in the end times.

Right is wrong & wrong is right….We really are in the end times. I agree. I know a UM Pastor. Pastors 2 churches and does a great job. Smart as can be and he’s gay. I figure his 2 congregations have figured it out by now. He doesn’t flaunt it, just kinda a sissy feller. I don’t agree with his lifestyle but for the life of me I can’t say that he doesn’t belong in the church.

So, if a fella was a crack addict and a pastor, would that be ok, as long as he was laboring for the church? What about a pedophile? Prostitute? What about just a plain ole thief, great guy, you just cant leave your wallet laying out around him, he might take a few dollars out of the offering plate now and then, but hes really laboring for the church?

I know a reformed thief and crack addict who’s one of the best pastors I’ve ever heard. If a feller is gay but doesn’t practice it, does it matter? Some of the biggest crooks in the world are pastors.

If he doesnt practice it, then no it doesnt matter. I would even go as far as to say he fights the good fight and slips up a time or two, everyone makes mistakes. But any of those i mentioned or the gay who has no intention of changing has no business having any kind of leadership role in a church. I agree, but you don’t always know. Statistics say 3 out of 10 in America consider themselves gay….. sounds like a lot to me but that’s what google says

I was raised old time Pentecostal Holliness. Church split after the Pastor retired and the church voted one of the female members in as Pastor (Daughter of the founding Pastor). My folks left and started attending a Church of God in the community. Like most young men I went my own way as I grew older. A revival broke out for about six weeks where the woman was Pastoring, I went to shut all of my old friends up. I felt the call of the Holy Spirit that night and got saved under a Woman preaching, March 22, 1992, never been the same person since.
Say what you want about a woman preaching or Pastoring. For me, the Holy Spirit moved that night and I'm grateful.
Romans 8:1-2 "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, for the law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of Sin and Death"

What makes a woman preaching any different than a man? Isn’t it the same if they feel the calling from God to do his work? BECAUSE.....if the BIBLE says no....that's it...PERIOD. That's the problem these days....too many people try and twist the words. What's written in there is the GOSPEL....either you take digest/believe it without questioning such or you don't....it's that SIMPLE.
