I got an update announcement from JP Morgan. It appears that US securities transactions are going to happen within one day, starting May 28th. This is what I got.
"The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has decided to adopt a shortened standard settlement cycle, beginning on May 28, 2024. As a result, most U.S. securities transactions will settle one business day after the trade date (“T+1”), rather than the current two-day settlement cycle (“T+2”).
This change will promote investor protection by reducing clearance and settlement risk of these securities as well as allow for faster payment following the sale of a security." Link to the full statement.

Its interesting that this change is happening now because a lot of the Hunter Biden money laundering and some of the attacks on Trump cases are based on the timing of buy and sell settlements and transactions.

So....does that mean money just gets laundered faster?

The technology has been available for a while. Surprised it took this long. Glad they are doing this.

Though, only 20 years ago I was still writing paper tickets and they would be called in for trades. Also had a squawk box on my desk.

Yes, money can get laundered faster. But this is something else tied to the what is called the Fed Now system.
The Fed Now system is supposed to be a new blockchain based system for banks, big money businesses, and governments to move and settle transactions nearly instantly. But the Fed Now system is also the infrastructure system for a future CBDC control grid currency that replaces the dollar and cash all together. Makes it easier to control the slaves.
When that was figured out by the public, the Fed Now system was suddenly never launched on its intended start date last year. Florida and other states passed anti-CBDC laws when the Fed Now system started to become known. Its an obvious plan that cannot be hidden cause way too many people are involved.
This statement today makes it look like the Fed Now system is already in place and running but the elements of it are being slow rolled out instead of at one big moment like it was intended.
JPMorgan basically just came out and said ," We magically figured out how to settle large securities transactions in one day, so take our word for it that this is going to make things better". We know when they say "it makes things better" that it really means we are screwed.

I got another piece of information which makes this make more sense.
This rule change enables people to short the market almost instantly. You can buy a stock share this morning and fully own it by tomorrow morning and sell it by lunchtime. Market prices change so rapidly now, you can see how being able to buy and sell large amounts that fast can be used to make money. We have all seen stocks shoot up or tank overnight, so it sure would be nice to be able to buy or sell as fast as the price changes. Computer trading is about to get really faster than it is now.

It just occurred to me. The SEC did not have to enact this change right now, there really is no need for it, but it does enable people to sell and pull out cash faster. Most likely, this benefits the large congressional asset holders who need to short sell and cash out in a hurry if they have to. The assholes in charge are getting ready to make fast moves and they always get off before the ship hits the iceberg. Ya'll look out.

For instance: If Trump wins the election then they only have a short time to get everything together and buy their new citizenship in New Zealand.

T+1 settlemenet has been coming for a long time. How they are really going to know who traded what security at what time and how many shares at what price is called CAIS reorting. The customer information will be reported with every trade.

T+1 has been coming for years. It is nothing new. The go live date has always been in latte 2024. CAIS is going to give them much more information and it has not been on the planning board for nearly as long. T+1 does not give them any more data but CAIS will give them volumes.
