say that like the old commercials for Monster Truck Sunday at the local dirt track. Anyway, since today appears to be "big new business construction" talk today. Here is a link to a website with an interactive map showing the locations of current and under construction solar farms.
Lowndes county will likely be the Solar Center of Alabama, Lots of flat sunny land with absentee landowners and a general population hungry for money. https://www.seia.org/research-resources/major-solar-projects-list
I've got about 5 Lowndes county Solar project studies going right now.

I'm not a solar expert at all. I am an expert about what is in the dirt under a solar farm. Does that help?

not at all. I know there is an alfisol with Silurian or Ordivician limestone 2-6 ft deep. No indians were crazy enough to live on. my ridges.

They actually might have but more than likely if you live there then other white folks did to over the last 400 years so I have to look for that stuff too. Its not just Indians I have to look for. Bulldozing cemeteries shuts down really big projects everyday.

Georgia and Biden have given the Koreans the reins on Solar panels, I will be starting up the 4th plant in Georgia later this year. Q Cells cannot build the plants fast enough, to the point they try to start making panels on temp compressed air while the installations are ongoing.

That’s crazy! Is it still considered a Korean made panel if it’s made in GA?

There are a good many solar farms going in the MS Delta on good cotton ground, but at a guaranteed $600/ac it is hard to pass up. The biggest downside I hear is that if the solar farm company goes under, you're left with expensive clean up/disposal. Otherwise, most contracts have a clean up clause at the end of the contracted period.

It would be rare for another company to not buy up an existing solar project if the original company went out of business. Plus, it is almost standard practice for solar companies to go out of business so their buddy company can buy it at a discount. Keep in mind the original project is half tax payer money.

They will be something else in the end of this scam. Good hail storm would probably take care of it.

Well then, I hope you find cemeteries at every site you are surveying!

Texas recently had a big hailstorm destroy a 4000 acre solar project. The pictures I saw were nearly unbelievable. Workers had to go in there first to cut off any live power and such before big machine work could begin. They could not walk on the ground surface and had to put on specialized steel soled boots so they could walk on the razor sharp glass and metal ground.

Solar panel prices have went way down in last 5 yrs.
Used to be a "big" solar panel was 180-190w. And would run ya $300-500 a panel.
The last new panels i bought were 405w bifacials @ $120.
I picked up used 290w panels for around $65.

Yup. The big price in panels is the silver. The older panels had a lot more silver in them but technology has figured out how reduce that amount by a lot. The new graphene tech solar stuff should reduce some more of the silver requirements.
