I raise my kid alone 100%, no help from anyone and his mom hasn't bought him anything in years.

I will never ask the court for a damn thing.
The system is flawed and let's mother's get away with everything.

I look at it like this, he's my kid, it's my job to provide everything for him and that's what I've done for 12yrs.

Everyone has their own way of looking at it. We had two. The youngest hadn’t even learned to talk yet when I sent her packing. She had zero parental rights but I never kept the kids away from her and NEVER spoke bad about her in front of the kids. I raised them for over a decade by myself before I married again. I’m glad I pursued it after letting her off the hook for a decade. Got a nice zero turn to show for it, bought some more reloading equipment and supplies this year and still have money left on my card. Not to mention how many times she paid for dinner without knowing it. There’s no doubt the courts treat them differently. She never spent a day locked up over it and what she had to pay was a joke. But, at least she had to pay something. I’m certainly not glad she passed away but, I sure am happy that mower was paid off before she did.

Maybe you can give her the Rush Propst treatment. It does appear to be an option.

I don't care about $ per se, what I care about is being screwed out of it. I have never not been there for my sons. My ex can't say that. She sure works hard to make it look like she is a good mom though. Pity, if she worked hard at being a good mom instead, my youngest might care more about seeing her.

I think its important kids understand both parents have flaws. I am not perfect, and I tell mine that. But I also call out their mom's manipulation when she tries to get over on them, because I don't want them to think that is how a good woman acts. Nor do I want them to think that sort of thing works for me.

I want my sons to walk out in the world and be men of good character. The less influence their mom has on them, the better their character will be. I wish I could say she is a great mom, but that would be lying. But then again, I don't get how a woman walks out on them, and gives up visitation days either. Tomorrow will be interesting. If she shows up to my house to pick up my son.

I never took mine back to court for failure to pay, mainly because it would have cost me more money, time, & aggrivation. It was a small amount, but it pissed me off her not taking it seriously. Early on she paid very occasionally & sometimes w' rubber checks, which really chapped my ass. Her father held her feet to the fire sometimes & made her pay, then many times she'd get months behind & would only catch it up when she got her Fed & State tax refunds. Her dad had something over her at the time & therefore could manipulate her into paying but never on the regular. Overall, dealing w' her was an exercise in frustration on many levels. She just made things do difficult, when it didn't have to be that way. She rarely took her w'end visitation (fine by me) but when she did she'd bring my son back, sick, bone tired, stinking, & many times in the same clothes (now filthy) he'd worn on Fri when she picked him up. CS was one thing, it was no better getting her to pay 1/2 of all uncovered medical expenses. Suffice it to say she didn't take that responsibility seriously either.

I feel for anyone having to deal w' an ex & child custody.. I went through it back in the late 90s & just reading this thread brings back a flood of bad memories & it almost pisses me off all over again.

It didn’t cost me a dime other than time and gas. I dealt directly with the child support department/agency and appeared in court by myself.
