While hunting last week I saw a bird soaring like a hawk, was about the same size but it had a spilt tail. Best I can figure it was a swallow tail kite. Any of y’all ever seen a bird like I’m describing. What’s y’all’s best guess? This was in lowndes county.

Probably a kite or that fly catcher bird. I think the fly catcher has a very long split tail. The kit doesn't Definitely larger than the flycatcher. And the pics I found of the kite shows shorter forked tail.

Sounds like a Swallow Tail Kite, very beautiful bird. Have you ever saw one over your way? Could’ve sworn I saw one years ago on the causeway but didn’t think they were in that area

Could be a chuck's will widow if you were in a wooded area; however, I would yield to Mbrock as he is trained in wildlife.
