Dropped two large red oaks, both were hollow at the base. I got one all cleaned up and just when I was about to cut up the second one had an idea. That's usually not a good thing for me but here goes. What harm could it do?

Start off with a 5' section of hollow tree.

Do some trim work, add a door

Add a window or two

Then a roof, shingles, chimney, and paint. This is what you end up with:
