I have a few bags of chufa left over and would like to save it until next year. I have a couple metal drums with tight sealing lids, would putting the seed bags in there and closing it up preserve the seed? It will be under my barn also, but I'm concerned about condensation.

If you have enough room or a spare chest freezer, put it in that

Yep. Freeze it and next year put it in some warm water overnight before you put it in the ground.

If the drum seals tight you can throw in a bunch of oxygen absorbers to help.

Im not sure my freezer will have the room, picking up a half a steer this week. I may try the drum until I have room in a freezer then move it there.

Condensation in the drum will be an issue. It will collect a couple inches of condensation in no time. Gonna take alot of silica gel to absorb that much moisture and will have to be replaced often

Get you some 5gal Mylar bags and use the oxygen absorbers and you will not have a problem. This is what preppers use to store food for long term. The oxygen absorbers will vacuum seal the bags.
