I only trust one other person besides myself working on our vehicle. I go behind anybody that does any kind work for me before money is exchanged.

I was is the auto parts 15 years and got to know a lot of mechanics. Most are hack jobs or straight up cheats. I get the oil changed in a couple of our vehicles because I can’t get under them. I’ve had them drain the new oil out on more than one occasion for putting the wrong weight in it.

I'd be mighty dangerous if I had a lift in my shop. I'm glad to see I'm not the only tire marker and double checker.

Gonna start doing that. I took my truck in last week for free rotation and balance. They called back saying the front brakes needed replacing, which I figured since the front end was shaking bad when I applied the brakes. So I gave the go ahead to fix the brakes and rotors while they had it on the rack. They work fine now. However, when looking over the service order, I didn’t see where they rotated the tires. Called them up and sure enough, he admitted they did not. He apologized and asked me to bring it back and they’d get right on it. Said it’d take about 45 minutes. So last Saturday morning I got there and told them who I was and he then realized he forgot to put me in the schedule so that 45 minutes turned into about 2.5 hours.

I go behind the mechanics on anything I have done including simple oil changes. I have found a Valvoline oil change that does good work and never screw anything up and have been dealing with them for over fifteen years. Had another place that did an oil change and the dumbasses forgot to put the master cylinder cover back on evidently after checking the level. Glad I caught it.

Glad you told this cd . The guy that helps me on the farm got the runaround on his truck for almost two years . It was during Covid but they wore the supply chain excuse out . Computer chip related. Service department is the pits and does or recommends a lot of unnecessary stuff .

They don't care, they had a good laugh about it after you left. I wont be doing anymore business with High Country Toyota. I purchased a new Highlander last year down there. It wasn't in yet so I had to leave a deposit and pay the balance when it came in. They add a $995 High Five package on every vehicle they sell and its not an option. It included tinting the front two windows, door edge guards, and paint protection. I tried to get them to take it off because I'm picky about tint and had a bad feeling about their paint protection. The sales lady assured me the tint would match the rear windows and it would be detailed and quality paint protection would be applied. It was the color and trim level my wife wanted so I said to hell with it and proceeded with the deal. When the vehicle came in we got a call to come pick it up. I done a walk around and found glue from where they pulled plastic off of the vehicle when it was shipped. There were bugs on back of the vehicle from where it was hauled backwards on the truck. The window tint on the front windows were considerable lighter than the factory rear tinted windows. I pointed all this out and asked the sales lady how did they apply paint protection without properly washing it first. I also pointed out the tint I wasn't happy with. I don't mind paying for something but to get screwed makes me mad. I tried to get my deposit back and just walk away from the deal but that didn't happen. She said they were short staffed where they wash the new vehicles. I said I could tell but it doesn't help the fact they were charging me for something I wasn't receiving. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone looking for a vehicle. 3 words : Sand Mountain Toyota.
