Well y’all do me a favor. Don’t tell my tundra it’s inferior cause it’s the best truck that I’ve had so far

Also every time Toyota makes an engine/ transmission change everybody talks crap and with the exception of the 3.0 in the mid 90s they’ve all been pretty dang reliable. Ford and Chevy still fight the same engine transmission problems that they’ve been fighting for 10 years. Toyota tweaks until they get it right.

Most folks dont know it… but the earliest iteration of 5.7 v8 had pretty serious issues..like almost all of the beginning of the half year of production of 07 like around 300k engines if I remember correctly…i think the issue persisted in limited quantities up until the 08..after that..corrections were made and thus a very near indestructible engine was the main v8 platform for toyota for nearly 14 years…lesser only to its father…the 2uz-fe 4.7L v8 not nearly as powerful…but when the description of this engine is googled(and ive done it)..it literally reads…engine has no major design flaws..top to bottom..and the only change to it ever..was variable valve timing…the 2uz-fe is in the top 10 most reliable engines known to have ever been built…🤷🏻

I actually went and test drove a 22 & 23 today a 1794 and a SR5 both 4wd and wasn't impressed at all with either of them to be honest. They rode ok sr5 was actually a better ride but was not a fan of the v6 power ... when up to speed they both seemed to excelerate quickly but seemed like a v6 taking off sluggish and ehh....not saying they are bad trucks but just not one for me

Yeah. The hybrid model fixes the sluggishness that you’re talking about. What I’m most impressed with is when pulling a trailer it handles it much better than my Chevy did.

Not Yota related, but I just got a 24 Colorado and the little turbo charged 4 banger is legit.

I think the biggest two gripes I hear about the Tundras are towing and fuel economy. They should be good trucks, it simply depends on needs

My 2015 Tundra is a great truck and pulls like a beast when I need it (engage Tow/Haul feature). I hope to get another 10 years out of it (it’s not my daily driver), and then I’ll buy one more Tundra to ride off into the sunset. By then they will have a 4th gen released. If I had to buy one today I’d go find a 2021 model (last year before 3rd gen was released) with a 5.7L V8.

Yep...if something happened and I had to go buy a vehicle tomorrow, it'd be something with the 4.7...probably a 1st gen Sequoia or an older Lexus LX. Biggest thing I pull is an 18' bass boat and it's got more than enough power for that

We bought a 2008 tundra 5.7 in excellent shape with 260k miles on it for our sons first vehicle. Around 275k it had a blown head gasket and he bought a nice 2016 f150. Everywhere said it would cost more to fix than a new used engine so I ended up putting some head gasket sealer stuff in the radiator figuring what have I got to lose. Long story short it fixed the problem, I sold my 2012 king ranch f150 and now have 295k trouble free miles on the tundra. So impressed with Toyota I bought a used 2021 tundra 1794 before they went turbo and the wife is now driving it. I honestly don't know what I'd do if I had to buy a brand new pickup, none of them are any count in my opinion.

I've been looking at 24 Tundras and can't pull the trigger. I may just end up with a 24 4Runner with this being the last year of the 4.0. The big 3 all of issues and Toyota doesn't seem to be much better from what I've seen and read online.

If anyone finds a 20-21 4x4 Tundra with less than 75k they're not interested in let me know!

You know I’m seeing a LOT of 24 Tacoma’s on lots too. People don’t want to spend 50,000 on a midsize with a 4 cylinder.

I’ve got a Ford that I might be getting rid of soon. Looked at the Tundra’s late last week then the recall was announced. Probably my fault. Sorry fellas.

Saw one last week that was a Limited, the list was 56K ! Didn't know they had a Limited in a Tacoma. It was sharp though , black with chrome wheels and a lot of chrome accents. It wasn't $56,000 sharp though.
