I burned a couple of slash piles a couple weeks ago. Called for a burn permit and let the local fire dept know I’d be making some smoke. Fuel on the old loading decks was thin and relative humidity was 60ish so I had no problems.

I swear by my life and my love of it that I will never live for the sake of another man, nor ask another man to live for mine

If you have a backpack blower or even a handheld one you can stand upwind of the fire and blow into it when it’s going good and really get it hot. It will help to burn the cold more completely
