Just blew a copperhead off my porch step with a 12ga. Wife nearly stepped on it. Killed a timber rattler in the front yard last week.
Keep your eyes on the ground bc they are crawling.

Step is fine. I got low at an angle where the shot mostly got the snake and missed my step. It was worth it to send that thing back to the underworld.
