Chain. They are a little more aggravating to put up, but squirrels don’t gnaw on steel. That’s a good point. I didn’t even think about that.

Chain by a mile. To me, the ratchet takes as much or more time than the chain and I have much more confidence in the chain. I bought a ratchet strap, used in one time and gave it away.
