I wouldn't thought a used 5045 was worth much more than that. Might see Walter Hass at Hollywood, he's the best of the best diesel mechanic in these parts. There's also a guy that used to be JD places ace mechanic out on Sand Mt that works for himself now . His last name may be Haynes.

You can get a whole new used tractor for that. No way that number is correct.

Find somebody who does that kind of work on the side and you will be way better off than a dealership. My FIL does that kind of work but you would have to bring it to him. Henry county.

$26k seems like a good price to me. If I roll one of mine off there I think so far it averages me about $2,500 to park it there a couple days for them to tell me they can't fix whatever is broke and want to sell me a new tractor.

This is probably why I see many pieces of heavy equipment, tractors and combines spontaneously combusted and burn to the frame, normally in remote enough areas too lol

Cheapest and easiest out may be a used engine from a wrecked tractor in a salvage yard. Deere is good about using engines in multiple platforms. That’s just crazy.
