I’m looking for 1-3 deer hunters for a 1,200 acre Westervelt lease in north Tuscaloosa County. Up to this point, I have intentionally kept the lease to just me and the tractor guy that plants our food plots / does the work (that is, just 2 hunters), so there has been little pressure. The plan is to keep it to a very small group. The property is 2 miles long (north to south), and one mile wide. It has a large, well-made pole barn and water/power. It has good access in terms of roads/fire breaks/trails and diversity - a mature hardwood bottom with a continuously flowing creek running through the middle, another hardwood bottom and creek along its western border, different aged timber, two sections of 1.5-year old clear cut, 8 food plots, grassy roadside berms, a few grassy trails along ROWs (that could be planted), and two small shallow ponds in the woods. Westervelt burns and select cuts areas periodically. There are well-made shooting houses on several fields. Some of the deer seem to be using the clear cuts as bedding areas. The biggest bucks we saw last year survived to the spring when we shut off our cameras. We have been surprised by how good the genetics are in this area. I can send some photos if interested. $2,000.
