I’m going to get my boy one. He just turned six. Internet research has got me interested in a Yamaha YZF50 and a KawasakiKFX50 but I’m really open to anything at this point. I’ve got another boy who is a few years behind him who will ride it when the oldest out grows it.

I bought my daughter a can am 70 at that age. It was great. It could be upgraded to a 90 fairly easily according to the internet with a few bolt ons but I never did it.

Unless your set on a 4wheeler look into the Polaris Rzr 200. I’ve had one for two years now. They are a little more expensive than the youth 4wheelers but for my situation I like the ability to ride with them. I plan on keeping it when my oldest outgrows it and then my youngest can drive it.
It’s big enough me and my wife can ride it around but we’re not giants either.

Bucket seats, roll cage, EFI, independent rear suspension, you can limit the max speed they can go through the display in 1mph increments.

I had to order mine in 2022 because dealers didn’t have any in stock, some dealers wouldn’t order it without a copy of my kids birth certificate which was/is BS. I’m not sending them any information like that. They said because Polaris has it 10 years old or older. They may do the same for the smaller ATVS. If I was buying for a 10 year old I would pass on the 200 and skip to a full size machine, depending on the maturity of the kid.

BamBam your welcome to come check mine out if you’d like. Just let me know.

Got mine a tracker 90 last Christmas. Not fast and not top heavy, it’s been great so far. He’s 5 and about 40 lbs

Definitely go name brand. No Chinese. I made that mistake. Polaris makes a 110. He should be able to ride it and get a few more years out of it before they outgrow.

My grandson got one about a year ago for his fourth birthday. I’m not sure of who makes it but it has the word “Hawk” on it and it is 110cc. The best thing is it has a feature where you can set the maximum speed. It also has a remote control where you can shut the 4 wheeler down if he is going to fast.

I bought a youth Suzuki for my kids several years ago. It's cold to warm up, but has been great otherwise.

Last Christmas I bought my 6yr old a Yahama Grizzly 90. It has been a great machine. It has a little chip that serves as a governor but I have never put it in. Back in February when we were burning he would tote me down firelanes to light fire or pick me up on the other end after lighting fire and it never had any issues toting us both. I would highly recommend it.

I bought my son a polaris sportsman 110 when he was 6. He can operate it fine, but it has enough power an adult can ride it as well. He is 8 now and still fits him fine.

I have a handful of youth atvs. I can tell you this, spend the extra money and get EFI. They are so much easier to deal with, if you let the carb units set up they always seem to have issues, even with non e gas.

Like others have said, stay away from the non brand name crap.

Thanks for the feedback. I found a guy with a 2022 Grizzly 90 with low hours. I went with a bigger machine because of the speed limiter.

My MIL bought 3 of the Chinese ones for my boys and they have gave a lot of trouble frames broke on 2 and had to replace fuel tanks on all of them and little things. Far as motor goes. They will fire up and run pretty good

I went Chinese a few years ago for my 7 year old daughter, it lasted her a few years, then her brother took it over, and I bought her the same brand in a 150. I never had any trouble out of them for years. Kymco, was the brand.

Went Chinese also 15yrs ago with no issues and it’s still running today. I have had to replace the brake pads and battery a couple of times.
