I've got a decent crop of milo / beans mix going. Looking into it I can see bare ground under all of it. Have any of you ever seeded into a standing crop like that and had success? left it standing or bushhogged onto the seed or after it was growing? Thought about a mix of clover and brassicas into it thoughts?

I hope it works, I plan on doing it this year. I plant about 8 acres of summer plots and after some trial and error the last few years I think I have figured out what will work best. Part of that is going to be planting no till into a cover crop. I need to increase my soil fertility and hopefully decrease fertilizer costs. I did a side by side comparison this year of a five way summer mix and my old standby of RR corn/Eagle Beans and there was no comparison, it will be corn/beans from here on out. So if clover feeds some deer and gets some nitrogen in the soil it’s a win win.

I did crimson clover and wheat into standing beans several years back, and it was great. Now I can't get the beans to survive long enough to have a standing crop.
