Bought an airless one from harbor freight a few years ago that did a great job

Bought a Wagner Pro 130 a few weeks ago from Lowes to paint a large gazebo and lattice (a lot of waste with the lattice).

I have ONLY shot exterior latex out of it (twice - about 6-1/2 gallons), but it does an excellent job - overspray is not terrible, cleanup with latex takes about 20-minutes or so (I am VERY thorough), 20' hose, shooting overhead no problem, comes with a single 515 tip, the "tank" will hold a little over a gallon of paint. I will probably shoot another 6-gallons over the next couple of weeks.

I have had ZERO problems with clogging and that is without thinning the latex with Floetrol.

Typically hvlp is for fine finish work like cabinet, doors and trim.
I’ve been spraying 40 years professionally and I’ve always ran standard Graco airless machines.
All the work I do now I use a Graco 395, it’s small and easy to haul and move.
You can do finish work with the 395 with the fine finish tips. It will do any work you need to do.

Recommend graco airless if you are doing big projects. For small projects or not frequent use one of the wagners from lowes or home depot will work just fine. If you are doing a bunch of smaller projects and want an hvlp for the fine finish I highly recommend the earlex or fugi systems.

yeah wouldn't recommend the little wagners for much more than painting the shudders. I got harbor frieghts cheap airless sprayer and it's the real deal, it's capable of spraying a fence as fast as you can walk. an airless sprayer does have alot of stuff to learn on priming and cleaning up the equipment and it will waste more paint due to the nature of priming all the hoses.

I bought a Graco new for less then 300 dollars on Amazon. They have them at the box stores also for around the same price. I painted the house that we are building and it worked perfect. I should have bought one years ago.

the one I decided on getting can, that was one of the deciding factors.

it can also hook to the hose pipe for easy clean out when done.

Well, I ended up buying a Graco magnum x7.

I had decided on the magnum X5, but the X7 was on sale 80$

The x7 ended up only 20$ more than the x5.
