Wife and I have an upcoming trip to Jackson Wyoming and I wanted some recommendations from the experts. Nothing planned yet other than a trip to Grand Teton. What y’all say? What are some things to see and do? Thanks

If I had discovered Jackson, WY as a younger man, I'd have found a way to stay there. I could spend every summer hiking in the Tetons and drinking beer on the porch at Dornan's every evening.

Maybe mix it up and have a cold one on the patio at Jackson Lake Lodge. We didn't like Yellowstone much, but it's close enough for a LONG day trip.

Fly fishing trip or a rafting trip down the Snake River. Paraglide from the top of the ski resort. Rent a bike in Wilson and ride all over the greenway. Go to Mormon Row and get this pic. Everyone's taken this pic, but it isn't until you see it for yourself that you realize why.

Whitewater rafting on the Snake River was cool.

Pinky G’s pizza was really good.

Gather is a sit down restaurant that wasn’t too expensive (by Jackson standards) and was the best place we ate.

My favorite place was grand targee ski resort. At the top of that mountain has to be the most beautiful sights out there. I literally set at the top of that mountain all day long. Unbelievable

The best thing I could recommend is don’t buy a return ticket.

Without a doubt my favorite trip the wife and i have taken. Yellowstone will be a long day but is not to bad. We went on a float fly fishing trip, white water rafted, and went to one of the ski resorts. I enjoyed some pinky g’s a few times while we were there. One of those places pictures doesn’t do justice.

Has anyone ever combined a “tourist” trip and a hunting expedition trip together in Wyoming??

Have a meal at the gun barrel, have a beer at the cowboy bar (sit in a saddle), see if you can book a backcountry horseback ride. Hike into the Tetons, be sure to wake up early at least one day and see the sunrise light up the Tetons, plenty of places to pull over and enjoy a cup of coffee and watch it. Take or rent a fly rod and catch some trout out of the snake. Drive up to Yellowstone.
There really is so much to do out there. The aspens may be starting to turn also. See if you can do an atv ride up to granite hot springs (take a swimsuit).

It’s an awesome trip, we stayed in Teton village in a vrbo. Did Jenny lake( took the ferry over) and hiked back. Saw mule deer and moose. Ate the gun barrel and had bison prime rib. Went to schwabacher landing and the rustic barn for morning pics. Then drove thru Yellowstone and went to prismatic springs and many other places.
Downloaded the guidealong app and whenever you come to an important place it starts talking thru your Bluetooth giving you the history.
Went up to signal mountain where that dude got attacked by the grizzly and lived.(he is on a podcast with meat hunter).
We rented a car thru hertz at the airport and said they didn’t take third party insurance and screwed me out of 300 bucks.
Jackson drug store is a good lunch place

To see wild life- drive out to Kelly & take all of the roads, get directions to drive to the back side of Miller's Butte.

Eats - Snake River Brewing for a Bacon Bison Burger, Dornan's for a pizza & the incredible view, The Bunnery for breakfast, or El Abuelito if you're craving mexican.

Teton Villiage for a gondola ride to the top of the mountain.

I can't wait for that trip, hopefully we will make it before we get too old to do something fun while we are there, well besides eat and see the scenery.

Buffalo Bill Historical museum is amazing and don’t forget to go to Old Trail Town in Cody. It is amazing especially if You like Old West History.
