Between SGI and Alligator Point currently. You expect it to continue to drift west or will that low drop in and start sucking it straight north?

I used to be station in Carrabelle back in the USCG, lived in Crawfordville. Can't imagine what it'll look like down there after this! If you drive 98 east out of Carrabelle, it is amazing how many houses are on concrete slabs on the ground right next to the water. I have a feeling there will be nothing but the slabs left after thissun.

Slip do you know anything about the website tropicaltidbits.com? Guy at work showed me and long term forecast after Helene shows another storm forming in the Gulf tracking towards Mobile Bay with landfall on 10/7. I know thats a long way out and models change but havent heard anything about a second possible major hurricane.

Don't pay any attention to any of those models out past 10 days and question all of them past 5 days.

I have a beach house rented on SGI for a week 10/27. Final 50% payment installment due Friday. Not looking good for that location; it's not far from the water. Anytime we go to the beach after August I buy the trip insurance just because of hurricanes. Best $100 I spend. Almost got left holding a weeks rental on Dauphin Island when the last hurricane hit it like 4 yrs ago. Storm hit 24 hrs before we were to leave. Rental company tried to say it was too late but I had already called down there and the place was not habitable and 3ft of sand in the roads. They wound up being good about it and refunding my money. The trip insurance gives cheap peace of mind.

The trip insurance gives cheap peace of mind. I have bought insurance from this agency in the past; but it only covered medical or death in family. It ran about 5% and I had to use it once when my Mom was ill and I was primary caregiver. They paid with documentation from Doctor; no problem. If the place is not habitable; we will have a discussion for sure. My concern is it might be "habitable" and the island is a wreck. But; there are people with much bigger problems than me this week. Hoping for the best; love that area.

Surge displays now showing 10-15' Apalachicola -Carabelle area; BAD. Spann is saying 15-20’ predicted for Carabelle now and predicting a Cat 4 at landfall. SGI is gonna be a wreck more than likely. I don’t guess I’ll be hunting St Vincent anytime soon
