Anybody using one they would recommend. Want one for my office. Got a mini fridge with no freezer. Prices on these things have come way down. Sure would be handy to have a little during the day since I am to lazy to walk across the parking lot to the big ice maker.

Has anyone had one that lasted... ? I want to get one since my ice maker went out but 2 friends have them and they lasted less than a year.

One of my drug reps gifted us a table top one from Magic Chef. It makes ice pretty quickly. Have to fill it with water, but that's fine by me as I use the water from the water cooler.

GE Opal with side tank…Sonic ice!! Almost 2 years old and is on all day. It is what we use instead of the freezer ice maker. The key is distilled water. We go through about a gallon a week. Tap or even filtered water causes mineral scale that kills it if not cleaned on the regular.

experience is a freakin' awesome teacher....

Euhomy from amazon makes sonic ice. You can fill it up with a pitcher or connect it to a water source

We bought 3 of them from Costco on sale back in August and they work great. Daughter took one to college and 4 girls filling Stanley bottles every day keeps up with their needs.

We have a GE
Purchased from Best Buy
Purchased the extended warranty
They don’t work on them so they just replace it when it quits every couple years.

Exactly this.

I have the same one and use distilled water ONLY in it. 2 years going strong and LOVE it! The in-laws got the same one and used tap water - I had to throw it away it got so nasty inside, even with regular cleaning per instructions.

Quick google search. So these things are $500-$600?

I had a magic chef, the only problem, it didn’t keep ice, it just made it.

I had one that was middle of the price range from Amazon. I can't recall the brand. It was a Christmas gift from my family because I use a lot of ice working FEMA keeping my cooler filled. It worked fine, but like others have pointed out, while making ice quickly, you had to do something with the ice soon after it was made. Then keeping it filled up is a bit of a PIA, but not bad. Overall, if you know all this going in and still think it will help you then they are worth it. I think my son ended up with it and I just keep quarters in my truck and stop at an ice machine on the way now.

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

I just want to fill up my fake yeti mug about 9am and then again about 1pm. I'd hate to have to use distilled water. I've seen where some of them have a clean or self clean mode. I'm looking more in the $120 buck range. Guess I meed to watch some youtube ratings this weekend.
