I used to be on there pretty regular years ago when I duck hunted a whole lot. There was waaaaaaaaay too much drama and poorly run by administrators IMO.

I was on there for a couple of years before I found this place...once it started slowing down, it slowed down fast.

I also used to be on duckhuntingchat.com, which seemed to be one of the bigger waterfowl forums out there, but it slowed way down too.

MSDucks, aka Ducksouth, is now officially dead. It trailed off significantly as the flyway seemed to shift and fewer and fewer ducks traveled through our flyway for fewer opportunities. It was slack/dead for about the last 5-10 years and is finally offline completely.

I was on there a good bit. Stayed out of all the drama, but it was entertaining reading!
I still remember that video someone posted of “Hitler hunting the big G”. That was hilarious.

I was reasonably active in the retriever forum. Knew all the regular posters and saw them several times a year at test/trials. Hated to see it go.

I made some good friends on that site.

I would not speculate on what happened to the site. Many things can happen to take a website offline that are often out of the control of the website owners. If anybody would know about those things, its me. So please dont speculate, it could many things.
However, the owners and people who would know do post here, so if they want to explain what happened they will.

Now I did love me some Ducksouth/MSDucks. Was on there a lot. In fact, I think that’s how I ended up connecting with you. It went to crap when the original guy sold it. Also seem to recall a pretty well-known guy connected with the site died in a traffic accident and that really sent the place into a spiral.

My fav story over there was the guy that lost his boat off the trailer and didn’t realize it until he got to boat ramp! I think that went 100+ pages over several years. I remember laughing to tears reading that story and the comments!

I learned most of that BS was just yanking chains. I met several of those guys and they were buds.

I hunted G to kill a can and the guy I hunted with, I went to back in his trailer and it had 30 something ducks on it. I kept the good ones. Lot of divers and blackjack. Took 3 or 4 trips to finally kill my first can and it was a bull.

I've been on the Refuge Forum since the beginning. They got thicker skin than y'all have I don't screw with them near as much

I got banned from the refuge my first day there. I asked a reloading question if I recall correctly

Alabama isn’t spectacular for duck hunting anyway unless you’re up north west Bama or have private land. Once Duck Dynasty came out, everybody wanted to be a duck hunter and go buy up all the grass camo and set up 50yds from your blind. They prob wore out a set of reeds in each of their calls on every hunt.

Duck hunting itself just got to be more trouble than what it’s worth for my area. I didn’t realize how much I missed deer hunting until I hung up the waders.

It started before then. Duck Dynasty was like 2012 or so and I saw fights over a joke years before that. Pickwick had us and 2 other groups at best back in the 80s and 90s and then early 2000 got ugly.

Pulled my 45 on 3 young punks threatening me for being in their spot Any day during season there will be 20 something duck boats on pickwick.

Theres some private holes that still produce well but nothing like it was back in the 80s and 90s. There was some jam up years in the 2000s too

Last year with the hard freeze it got real and it mean really good on the river.
