Never had it my whole life till about 5-6 years ago in my mid-late 20s. Got so bad had blisters the size of golf balls. Think I may have it again, this time seems like a rash over nearly my whole body with one or two small blisters. Went to doctor today and he was torn between poison ivy and allergic reaction. I was possibly around some this past Thursday night. How does it start out with yall and also any good remedies?

So for my patients…I would give a cocktail shot (I use 4 decadron with 40 Kenalog) and give a medrol dose pk script for if it pops back up 7-10 days later…take an antihistamine like Zyrtec/claritin and calamine lotion to put on topical. Hope the doc actually gave you something to help. No fun.

Dr should have you some. Either prednisone or pregnisone one of them is a steroid. You get a shot and then take ten pills the first day, nine the next all the way down till the last day one. That crap will be gone in three days no matter how allergic or how bad you have it Gave me prednisone once daily 5 pills Xyzal once before bed 30 pills Maybe I'm on the right track I just don't won't it to get to the huge blister stage

Don’t scratch it much as it could cause you to need antibiotics for staph coverage etc. I don’t envy you 😂

I had a student in the Air Force who got Poison Ivy so bad on one of my jobs he spent two days in the hospital. He was from a city environment up north and had no natural resistance. Anyway, because of it, that guy got re-assigned to a career indoors.

I just got rid of some with brake cleaner Brake cleaner is some serious stuff. I started to weld some parts together that had been cleaned with brake cleaner without me knowing, and I cleared the whole shop out in seconds lol

I am very allergic to the stuff - at the first sign, I go to the doctor and get a steroid shot and a 7-day Prednisone pack. The problem with steroids (at least for me) is I don't sleep well at all when I am on them.
