I’ve got a Knight muzzleloader, stainless barrel (Wolverine). This gun has been loaded with a charge of pyrodex loose powder and a sabot bullet for close to 10 years. Would you feel safe shooting the gun to discharge it? Should I just hunt with it? A friend of mine says pyrodex powder won’t shoot after 2 years, I really don’t believe that. My Knight has never failed to fire, and I use musket caps also. What should I do? Thanks in advance, Robinhedd

Pull the breech plug and clean everything out manually That powder is corrosive and could have compromised the barrel
When I need expert advice I tend to talk to myself The older I get the better I used to be

Order a 209 conversion kit . Pop a cap can’t hurt nothing. I’d spray some Kroil oil down barrel if it shoots before trying to get breech plug out.
