Guess my first check which is due in December will be late. Always thought I would defer receiving until I was 70 but my advisors said you may as well take it now because it might be reduced or or taken away depending on income/savings or no money left in system. They felt if you started now then if there were changes made, I would probably be grandfathered in and avoid any changes.
Weird to start getting a check from the government, even though it was originally my money! Probably just invest it in the market.

I only qualified for ss retirement payments in Oct when I turned 62 If you get in early you can get a lump sum payment for the 6 months previous if you were past 62. If you got in as soon as possible; I don't think you would qualify. I was going to wait a few more years; but when the SSA advisor told me I would get a BIG check for the previous 6 months I went ahead. They basically can back date your enrollment 6 months.

My millennial self fully expects to get $0.00 from that racket They are talking about lump sum Social Security buy-outs. If such a plan becomes real and the numbers add up better than the current system. I may take it. Because, even if I ever do collect SS, I wont be getting to many years from it anyway.

If I was to take a buyout I’d dump it all into my Roth and IRA.
AND, if I was to take a buyout I’d better not have to pay one cent into SS again.
