I’m still ate up with it, like most of us are, but look at things from a different perspective now. Now, a deer is just the bonus to spending time at a place I love. It’s a plus to spending time with my kids piddling on the farm. I joke with my wife and tell her that our kids will learn more spending a day on the farm with me than they ever would in a first grade or kindergarten classroom. I’m actually not joking, but I am. Y’all know what I mean. I absolutely love having the kids with me and I can see their curious little minds working overtime when we are out doing stuff. Last week Stella helped me and Travis put up some shooting houses and this evening we gave one of them her maiden voyage. It was Stella’s first time deer hunting with me and an evening I’ll never forget. It’s not the biggest deer I’ve ever shot, but boy, it’ll be hard to top that memory. The fool tells me his reasons; the wise man persuades me with my own.
