Anybody get selected? My son and I got selected on our first try this year. Will be hunting the Ocala Pipeline WMA week of 3/20. Anybody hunted this area before?

That's going to be one hell of a drive/flight...have you studied up on the turkey hunt situation down there? Where to go, number of quotas allowed, how long it takes to draw a quota for an actual decent shot at seeing, much less shooting one? Just asking. I've about come to the conclusion that there are only a handful of permits worth applying for and most take years of applications to draw one. I'm going to keep doing it because I want an Osceola and hunting Florida is much more challenging than hunting Alabama; it's not for the faint at heart.

Good luck! It used to be much easier to get drawn. The year I went I was told was the first year they started only 10% of draws given to non-residents. I got drawn for 2 different properties and easily killed a bird on each place.

a turkey is a turkey. No matter where you go, finding them is the hard part. Some places are just easier to find them.

The one Osceola I’ve killed may have been the easiest turkey I’ve ever killed lol.

Yes, a lot less turkeys in Florida with more open, wet terrain.....equals...."hunting Florida is much more challenging than hunting Alabama".
