Than long time friends being in your home?

One of my very best friends is here until Monday to hunt. He already crashed, but this has just been an awesome day. Took him to the blind, and came back home to finish my workday and prepare a deer sausage, chicken, and cheese Italian casserole for supper.

Chosen family is the best! At least one member of my chosen family is here on Aldeer, but he ain't been here lately. Maybe he can come over during turkey season with his son!

Glad youre having a good time with your buddy, UncleHuck. And yeah, it is pretty cool. I go to a bible study with my son and my best friend(since elementary school) about every sunday night. My old baseball coach has it at his house, weve been friends ever since he came to Cleveland to teach, 30+ yrs ago. Having long time friends around is great.

Nothing better! I talked with a long time buddy today before I went to stand today, he's a pastor and we laughed about some wild times as teen's. When I got done with my hunt the guy that brought my parents house that I have become good friends with, he went and got my pistol off my wheeler I forgot on my last hunt, it was his birthday and his wife invited me in for dinner! nothing like good friends!

And he got a buck this afternoon!

This is North Georgia, no ag. Our deer do not have South Alabama racks. Buck weighed about 160.

He broke his right G3 before my buddy shot him. He also had a puncture wound where he got stuck in the ass before he got shot.

Thank you.

We are both cancer survivors, and he is currently stage 4 bone cancer. I treasure every minute I get to spend with him. He has been a business mentor, a coworker, a support structure during difficult times, and one of the best folks I ever sat with on a porch in the afternoon. We have fished, camped, cooked, hunted, bullshitted, repaired, modified, travelled, grieved, buried, served as pallbearers, and generally supported each other as only chosen brothers can for the last 23 years.

God truly blessed me with this man, who became my brother.

Don't make excuses for the deer's rack. That's a Bama deer in my experience. We love them all just the same.

I respect that you recognize the pleasure derived from having someone close to you share experiences despite the tough times you've both found. I wish you both many more years of time together.
