Ok weird post hope y'all get better at sucking 😁 I don't even know what this means. The insinuation is that some folks don't think enough, and believe that others overthink. DNZ mounts look like hammered schitt. No way to cover that. I have seen prettier mounts than Talley, but mostly out of Doug Turnbull's shop, and NEVER from DNZ. Those of us who check every aspect, level, square, torque to precision, really don't care if you believe that we overthink. Hell, sometimes I tell myself that I overthink this, then I shoot 5 rounds into a dime at 100 yards and realize I made the right choice. That had nothing to do with fugly DNZ mounts.

Yes sir.i have several bench type rifles and long range rifles and always wanted to venture into Comp shooting like yourself but I don't have a dedicated rifle for either arena.just a few rifles strictly for target shooting . I'm hoping the new Brock's Gap has f class and benchrest matches I know it will have benchrest so maybe way I go

Happy to help you mount and laser bore site whatever you want. I can do it while you watch, or teach you how to mount a scope properly. No charge for Aldeer members willing to make the drive..

Hell, sometimes I tell myself that I overthink this, then I shoot 5 rounds into a dime at 100 yards and realize I made the right choice. That had nothing to do with fugly DNZ mounts. I was being sarcastic in the o.p. and also my response to 3%. My point in this post is that for most hunting rifles, you don't have to treat them like a benchrest rifle. Unless, of course, you are a benchrest shooter. I which case you treat every rifle like it's a benchrest rifle and that's okay and I understand the mentality. In my case I had the bases and rings on hand. Yeah, they are 2 screw rifleman rings, but again, I had them on hand so what did I have to lose besides 75 to 100 dollars ?. I did take care to mount them correctly even if I had to find an extra screw for the bases to mount em. Also, I didn't break the barrel in like I normally do. I've done that on a lot of guns and honestly the more I do it the more I get to thinking I don't need to do it. There is a lot of debate online about this topic. Also, this is a 24 inch heavy barrel 308 with a can on it. Recoil is minimal. The main thing is that it did shoot a 5/8 inch group at 100 yards. And for bases and rings I already had, and only switching up factory ammo one time, I'm happy with it. the farthest shot I'll take with it is a tad over 300 yards so I probably won't even work up any handloads for it either. It might be a simple approach but the older I get the more I like simple. If it didn't shoot as well as it did I would be chasing rabbits on it. But thankfully I don't have to.

I use the vortex rings more than any other. However when I bought the new Tikka I had the guy put me what the thought would be the best rings for the Tikka. If I remember correctly he had a set of DNZ rings and that’s what he put on it. They look very stout and dang sure ain’t the prettiest but they’re holding the scope on the rifle. I usually do the scope mounting myself but the guy at this particular gun shop has a great reputation for doing things right and not letting a rifle leave his shop until he and the customer is completely satisfied. I guess I’m pretty picky when it comes to making sure everything is done just right.
