It’s one of the few things that ever came fairly easily to me. I was the family/community sharpener by the time I was 13 or so

I use Accusharp for sharpening kitchen and hunting knives. It is cheap, fast, easy to use and puts a good working edge on a knife. They are about $10 on Amazon

I’m gonna derail this post and say the same dang thing about chain saws.
I’ve got the exact file for the exact chain, I go super slow and make it nice and shiny sharp looking and it cuts like crap.
I just buy two new chains once a year and move on.

Try the stihl easy file for chainsaws. One more thing on slow, you don't have to go all that slow, it's more steady and not trying to bare down.

The Stihl sharpener works great and is easy to use. Buy one and watch YouTube videos on how to use it and your chainsaw will cut like a hot knife through butter.
