‘07 Highlander has 454,000 miles on it, so I’m happy the vehicle even works. That said, the power windows are on the struggle bus. The driver’s window is the worst and has to rest for a few minutes before working, especially coming back up. Replacement motor looks to be pretty cheap, but could it be something else I should consider replacing instead/too?

Motor should be all. I'd pull the regulator out before getting the motor and make sure all of that is in order first though. You can get a motor and reg combo for cheap as well if there's an issue.

That's incredible mileage. Have you had to do much maintenance to it over the years?

I would lube all the working parts with silicone spray. There is a breaker in the motor that stops the motor when it gets in a bind, like top and bottom. Can you get the door panel off?

Getting the panel off is 1/2 the battle. Youtube is your friend when it comes to stuff like this. Rock Auto should have any parts.

I would probably reuse the motor and just order a regulator. there's a small chance that the windings in your motor could be a little melted but most likely it's the regulator cable that doesn't wind up right and overheats your motor.

It needs the timing belt replaced, so haven’t done a great job there. I’ve had to replace the alternator once or twice. Brakes a couple times. I change the oil most of the time, but sometimes let an Express Oil Change place do it. The biggest two things are it was made in Japan and most of the mileage is from the highway.

Got the motor and regulator replaced. Easy peasy.
