Put a kerosene rag around it and carry on I remember when I was a kid maybe 8 year old range. I was climbing up a tree and was coming down it. My dad had an ax at the bottom of the tree. It laid the side of my foot open. Kerosene was the answer. Another time maybe 12 years old I was running a garden tiller bare footed. I stepped on a nail about the size of a number 2 pencil. It was actually making a knot on top of my foot just not coming through. Dad yanked it and the answer was kerosene once again. It was amazing how people survived without insurance and no money.

Jumped of the top of the barn crib once and landed on a nail to the bottom of the foot. Papaw's answer was always blue lotion. Granny would get mad and him for doctoring our cuts and scrapes with Blue lotion so she would follow up with mercurochrome on it. We would wear that stain for a month.
Its not the will to win but the will to prepare to win!

You think country folks don't bait deer? I was baiting when baiting wasn't cool, i remember when nobody was looking i was putting corn in my fields 😆 Guess im gonna have to listen to Barbara Mandrell now 🤣

Dear Lord that stuff was of the devil!!!! Burned like the fires of hell. It was all we had back then. Skinned knee/elbow...devil's Mercurochrome. I'm gonna have nightmares thinking about that stuff. Mercurochrome PTSD.  I remember my Grandma telling me they never got sick! And the reason was is cause if they said they was sick their Grandma would pull out the cure all Castor oil! She said they learned quick just keep they mouth shut, cause either one was just as bad 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
