Ive never seen so many grown ass men jump to conclusions. Starting back in the 1990's when the internet was an infant, Aldeer was created. Aldeer and its toothless cousin Tndeer, showed grown men their secret love of Drama that they did not know they had. Unlike women, our love of Drama stops at the line where the forest ends and civilization begins. But the internet broke that barrier and brought our discussions about the forest indoors. Now grown men can have drama in the comforts of civilization. It is unusual that a hunting man in Alabama would need this explanation. You must of been born after 1995. .... ....

I’m bored and confused. Couldn’t care less what anyone does.
So the deer was gut shot on public and has ended up on private. Happens quite often.
The drone deal. I’ve never had to use one and if I did I hunt private surrounded by private surrounded by private.
Can you only deploy the drone on private and only search private for shot buck? Or can you only deploy on private and check any land from the air? Just curious when I hear no drones on public The state may have a rule about "launching" a drone from public hunting land (WMA), I don't know I didn't look to see. To answer your question. Yes, you can launch a drone from private land and fly over private or public land. Just as you can launch a drone from public land and fly over private land, as long as there is no rule about launching from public. Reason being is because the air space above private or public is not owned by anyone but governed by the Feds.

I would bet the regulation says something about flying them with the intention of hunting, scouting, or locating game......something to that effect

Or just a lot of people both ways bored , cold and wet from snow 😆

Ask those big cities about air rights. They’re worth a lot of money. Not sure about Alabama but I’d imagine they’re like mineral rights

I know some folk not going like me for this comment. If you going to shoot a deer shoot him to kill him, don't make him suffer for 2 days. Go to range and take target practice. If you not going to shoot to kill do not take the shot.

Nothing negative about your comment, but animals get wounded for reasons other than not being capable of the shot. . A person can go the the range 3 times a week and still wound an animal by a matter of 1". I don't know a hunter that hasn't wounded an animal except for a couple that really haven't be at it long enough.

Or just a lot of people both ways bored , cold and wet from snow 😆 In Alabama, you can use a drone to locate, recover and scout. Alabama so far is very liberal in the use of drones. With the exception of some larger cities having rules about launching from public parks or flying within a certain distance of some venue that may be going on at the time. As far as hunting, no you can't hunt with a drone in Alabama. You can't fly over a place and call a buddy and direct them where the animal is so they can make a slip on it. However, you can fly over a particular area or food plot and decide where you want to hunt. You can put the drone away and go on into that location, that's considered scouting. Since I made my first comment, I did look up the rule for WMA's and there is a rule that you can't launch, land or possess a drone while on a WMA. Of course, while operating a drone, you must comply with all FAA regulations. Such as Part 107 for commercial or for just entertainment you must take and pass what they call TRUST. It's just a little course and simple little test to make you aware of all the drones ins and outs. In this case in this thread, as long as the pilot had permission to launch from said land and since he was helping someone, and it wasn't just for his personal entertainment he would have needed a Part 107.
