Year round vs corn piles during hunting season. Is there a difference?

Big difference.
Feeding year round acclimates the deer to the feeder.

I supplemental feed 12 months per year. I feed a combination of 16 Point protein pellets, Triple Grip (Corn, Soybean, Peanuts ), Alfalfa Pellets, and a little bit of Draw. 3 feed stations. 1 is a 3'X10' trough feeder that holds up to 600lbs. 2 - 200lb gravity feeders. It is amazing how much feed thy consume, especially during the winter months. The trough feeder of course feeds birds, squirrels and coons at times.

I don’t supplemental feed, the benefits don’t outweigh the cost but that’s my two cents.

Habitat management > Supplemental feeding
If funds are limiting factor, it’s best spent on improving habitat.

Not much habitat improvement you can do in leased timberland. We feed protein in some form right after the rut to help the bucks recover and also during fawning season. Seems to help but who knows?
