Good, bad ugly? What’s y’all’s thought on them. Thinking about gttn something smaller that I can swing a little easier with my back brace on. Open to other options as well.

They’re good. One of my boys has one and it’s legit 40+ with tss hand loads. It feels like it weighs about 3 pounds.

Got one for the kids to shoot and it’s definitely a 40 yard killer with TSS, I’ve killed several with it myself
I got the 410 but they make one in 20 gauge as well

IMO there’s better options. All the turkey models have 26” barrels and aren’t that light. I got one for my wife, but got the 22” barrel standard gun and had it drilled/tapped. It’s still heavier than my o/u.

I believe I’d get a Rossi if I wanted a cheap single shot.

I bought an old topper youth model 20 gauge and had it cut to 18.5” and threaded. It’s been my favorite turkey gun for years. I shoot 1 3/8 oz of 9s in it.

This right here ^^^^^

I have 2 of them, both with red dots. Factory choke and apex tss gets the job done.

I have a 301 with the thumb hole stock for my son it’s not a bad gun but has its drawbacks

This season he is probably trying a 28ga mossberg silver reserve O/U turkey.

Put a rib mount and holosun on it.

it’s shorter and handles better and has 2 shots just in case.

301 .410 factory choke with ninjas and a vortex venom. It feels like a BB gun but I’ll never go back. Amazing pattern from 15-40. I have more confidence in my shot too bc there is no kicking or flinching

My 20 guage did well with the choke that came with it! I tried shells and chokes and nothing worked. My best friend was looking for a gun and told him i would sell this one but i was still patterning it. I bought some tss apex and kept factory choke in - shot like a champ. Forget numbers but it was something like 80 something pellets in head and neck at 42 steps. Since i had already told him i would sell it to him - i sold it 😀

I really like the one I have. I didn't go with a red dot on mine. I put a tru glow scope on it. I didn't want to put a red dot that cost more than the gun.

if i hadnt taken up hunting i might have became a juvenile delinquent or worst taken up GOLF

I polished the bore on mine and shoot the choke that came with it . I'm sending Paul's duplex load down the pipe. I can't conceive there's a better 410 combo out there. It's 40 and then some easy.

Patterned the 301 with 6 shot TSS this weekend and I am impressed. It is a 40 plus yard gun all day long.
