I feel like we need to discuss these Turkish made firearms. Just browsing some of them look interesting. Especially shotguns and now even lever action rifles. Any body ever held one or own one that would care to share an opinion? Some of these prices are very tempting.

I’ve got a CZ 912 shotgun that’s Turkish made. Shoulders and shoots well. It is my only 12ga autoloader, so it is my duck gun and serves me welll….when birds cooperate.

Some of the pistols and shotguns get really good reviews.
Canik (for instance) has one of the best factory triggers on a polymer gun.
SAR is another well reviewed pistol.
My wife’s weatherby 20 ga auto is Turkish made and works great.

Had a Weatherby pump 12 Turkish made. Great gun. Son and his duck hunting buddy are both shooting the Silver Eagle Turkish autos right now, and VERY happy with them. They are using the Benelli mobil choke system so you can use aftermarkets from Carlson and Briley as well.

I've got 2 friends who put a lot of rounds through their shotguns and they both shoot Tri-Star 20 ga auto's without a hiccup. If I were in the market, I would buy one .

Similar to Chinese made stuff, they can make anything from very mediocre all the way up to very nice quality. It all depends on what the contractor is willing pay and what quality they’re willing to accept. Weatherby has some of the nicest production stuff coming out of Turkey and it’s a great value. Tristar is good but with less attention to detail fit and finish and yildiz is solid, will perform reliably but won’t win any beauty contests. Turkey has a long tradition of firearms manufacturing and as long as it’s marketed by a reputable/known name you’re unlikely to be burned.

What do they shoot a lot at? I’ve never heard of a dove hunter or clay shooter that preferred a tristar. Do they say why they like them so much?

I’ve had a CZ 1012 for a little over a year. I’ve shot about 30 boxes of low brass dove and target loads thru it,and it’s performed perfectly. Fit and finish are very good for the price.

I'm a big Tisas fan and own numerous 45s and a couple 10mms. It's pretty hard to mess up a Series 70 1911 if the manufacturing tolerances are kept decent. Very good value. Everyone I own is very accurate. My Tisas Nightstalker SF in 10mm just eats. Out of the box will suffice for most when it comes to trigger pull. I dropped Ed Brown trigger kits in mine and made them even better.

I have the cheapest tristar semi auto 12ga that I picked up from Walmart. It has run flawlessly through shot 6-700 rounds and never been cleaned.

I have a weatherby element 20ga turkey.

This gun is worth much more than I paid for it new

I have several benelli guns and it is a similar gun, in fact the barrels will interchange with the M2.

It has as smooth an action and has cycled everything I have run through it.

Plus it throws a pretty good pattern and was a little over 1/3 the price of a benelli

If it came drilled and tapped it would be THE deal!

Don't forget Canik. You'll have a hard time finding a more accurate 9mm. Trigger pull out of the box is very good.

They shoot a lot of pen raised and wild quail on $$ preserves all over the southeast and pheasants in the upper midwest. They like the light weight of the guns. These two can afford whatever they want so I was a bit surprised when they chose the TriStars but both of them said they shoot these guns better than anything they have so far.

That’s crazy I agree. The action on them is stiff and they swing like a 10’ 2x6.
