Yep, this would be a consequence of the Covid shut down of 2020 as well. Kids today don't get the benefit of a real snow day anymore thanks to virtual school which most parents do not want to deal with either. Either they already have jobs that they work from home or are able to work from home when necessary or they chose to send their kids to school because they were already aware that they did not have the temperament to home school in the first place.

It is definitely and inconvenience for most. Some folks who have jobs that they have to still go to (first responders, medical personnel) may have to have grandparents watch the kids and then that can add a whole other level of problems.

This is nothing but collecting FEDERAL BIDEN DEMOCRAT ATTENDANCE MONEY its the Number One condition for the gravy train from the Department of Education Metric used for money figuring. Thats it. Keep the kids in the Government Programming Center for as long and as much as possible. The Chinese Way. If anybody says it is any other thing then they are a dumb Phucking blind Idiot. I know that system and process all to well.

Whenever my kids have a virtual day, I’m pretty sure they get everything done in less than an hour. I don’t know if my kids have learned a dang thing

The school got the checkbox for minimum required. Actual learning time at school is formally metricized at a set rate. The last one I saw in 2020 was 1.2 for 8. It is by my estimate probably about .32 seriously. I learned this function because I was a developer of the first online class systems that Troy got in on early. I did not do the computing at all. I did the determining value things. Best Value was the marketing gimmick, remember? I had to figure out which parts the online students had to get at practically. Like Aldeer? Yeh,, Troy used to be on Aldeer's side.
They administrators loved it which is why they loved me. But I did some of that statistics and the ultimate value is learning for every minute. The number 1 way to achieve all 100 minutes of fully focused learning is TWO THINGS! Direct Apprenticeship or VIDEO.

That is Professor Jason Mann figuring reality into a metric for a control mechanism that AI is learning how to use to teach us. Sorry yall. my bad. Oh, and the nightmare. They will do direct apprenticeship taught to us by robots en mass. You wont be aware of it, it will be purchased by you and brought into your house as an assistant. Shut up Alexa.
But I do liike the idea of a dishwashing laundry doer robot. So long as it doesnt look real I'm ok. And it understands us but it has an R2-D2 language that we can all learn. Cause then its your security mexican.

That’s about like giving kids a summer time book report assignment. They started that here a few years ago. When my son was still in school I sent word to have the teacher contact me and I’d explain life to her. Summer vacation is just that. Piss off

When in HSV they did the virtual crap during snow days. Sign in and get counted for the day. Go play in the snow then.

I did some deep diving back then intothe amazing largess of the early online teaching World that I was part of back then. Just online classes then it was month to month $10+k big checks. I jumped two brackets in 6months. The money was insane. University of Phoenix did it bigger and stronger than Troy. They Hosted a SuperBowl in their Brand New stadium, financed on a direct online test program. That is what Blackboard was. Which is why it had a very stout network that was at first and early unbelievable difficult for hackers. Like it was designed by the NSA tight sh1t. It the layers of blackboard to hack through are truly video game levels of great complexity. It was an entire advanced data collection network and it still very much is. The amount of personal data is unbelievable that went across that network. People give a way their souls to any random sort of trustworthy professor. I cannot discuss the student legitimate "I got a problem" emails I have gotten. Some people do really go through tough times. enough of that. Online teaching and virtual is how AI is learning to teach us. Next will be Show me Robot how to do X.

When K-12 got the tools to do remote learning they were not going to give them up. But pretty sure most of that happened under republican leadership. Definitely under republican state governments in the south.

At least our district scheduled 3 real snow days...too bad we already have had 7.

I sent them a MEMO and I will not share it here. Bu ti involves numbers that look like this 22.l3.erd.2,69-63.z And things you see in government publicly accessible contracts. That send money to 4-person board decided Gerry-mandered education funding districts Those numbers are so weird. .

Virtual Day around here is a couple of worksheets and maybe some reading to be turned in sometime days after they return to school. My kids think it's great. They are geeked up yapping to friends now.
